"A DANGEROUS CLIFF"

There is now, as always a dangerous cliff called compromise. The Holy Spirit is at this time, as always, crying out His objection to the things that are detestable to a Holy God!

If your beloved asked you not to entertain a concept or a celebration that was detestable to him, would you listen? Or would you entertain your very flesh of fun, to gussie it up with light and humor, trying hard to hide the evil nature of it's ancient beginnings?

If called to account of a behavior that was detestable, would your reply be, "It doesn't mean that to me?" Would you be shocked if your beloved felt otherwise?

The very mind of God is not at all a resemblance of the mind of man. The two are contradictory! There is enmity between carnal man and The Holy Living God. The Spirit of God seeks to bring about a submission to His will which is always and forever the best we can embrace.

Your beloved tells you to wash your socks and keep them off the floor because they wreak! You say, okay and kick them under the bed after spraying air freshener in the room. There, all taken care of, where can the objection be? The objection is covering over the original offender and moving it's meaning to a more suitable place according to the mind of man.

This is the dangerous cliff of the pagan holidays, made clean, made bright and giving them new meaning according to a "christian perspective". A Holy God hates compromise! No matter how cute, or innocent we portray it to be. The ancient Israelites were not instructed to be careful of the paganistic ways of those gentiles surrounding them, they were told and warned, do not even bring them in the camp, lest you be snared by them!

The enemy seeks to get his foot in our doors through the art of compromise. Always remember the first words ever recorded in which he used this tactic. "You shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened,  and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

Do not bite because it makes sense to the mind of man. Honor a Holy God and ask Him His opinion....you can never go wrong by asking God how He feels. He will tell you, if you honestly want to know...
