Hi,
I’d like to share something I found when reading the Scriptures some days ago.
I was posting articles about Bible Prophecy (for a blog in Portuguese, as I’m from Brazil) and warnings for the left behind after the Rapture (whenever it happens) that the “mark of the beast” should never be taken. Of course I firmly believe that this mark should not be taken by those left behind, but later I read a passage from Mt 5:29-30 and noticed that there might be a second application for the common interpretation that we have for this passage, which is always allegorical.
Mt 5:29-30:
“And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast {it} from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not {that} thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast {it} from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not {that} thy whole body should be cast into hell.”
I never quite understood why Jesus would be saying something as drastic as “remove the right hand” or “remove the right eye”. Then I concluded that this could be addressed more specifically to the Tribulation Saints who happen to take the mark on their right hand or their forehead and might come to repentance later. It’s curious that, in this passage, Jesus specifically mentions the right eye and the right hand, and not just “eye” and “hand”. I think He mentioned “right eye” and “right hand” so that they could correlate to the passage in Revelation 13:16:
“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.”
Trying to apply this passage to the Tribulation period, it came to my mind that Jesus MIGHT be hinting that if someone happens to take the mark of the beast and if sometime later they notice that the Antichrist is a deceiver and if they REPENT, this mark could be and should be REMOVED, otherwise this person would lose their eternal Salvation. So for the first time in my life I read this passage with a literal interpretation (for the Tribulation period), and it’ curious that the passage mentions two body organs (one in the head and the other the hand itself), very similar to the two places that Revelation says that the mark of the beast is going to be applied.
Revelation doesn’t mention the eye, but the forehead, but it could be that if that person with the mark repents and tries to remove the mark (if placed on the forehead), especially without the help of professional surgeons and adequate hospitals (as they will probably not have the means of payment for that and have to remove it in secret and illegally), the right eye adjacent to the mark could be affected (the laser tattoo could reach a part of the right eye and be detectable by UV scanners). I don’t know, but I had the impression that the Holy Spirit was instructing me about that. I’m not sure. Of course I can be wrong.
So, I decided to include in my left behind note and warnings for the left behind, that the mark of the beast (whatever it is, microchip or visible or invisible tattoo applied with laser beam) should never be taken, BUT if the person reading that left behind note happened to read I after having received the mark, then the best procedure, if they repented, would be to REMOVE the mark (even if having to lose the hand or the eye) and ask forgiveness to God, in the name of Jesus, with all sincerity.
I may be wrong, but it came to my mind that it’s better to include this warning and include this possibility for the left behind than to let they think that there is no way back if someone has already taken the mark. So I decided to share this possible interpretation with you.
About left behind notes, I think that regular websites are very interesting, and that they reach a lot of people and allow a better layout and site hierarchy. I think that paper is good only for those who are close to you. I have a website in Brazil with translations of articles about the Rapture and Bible Prophecy, but I noticed that after we are taken we won’t be able to pay for the hosting expenses and that these websites will sooner or later be removed from the internet because of unpaid fees. So I decided to place a mirror blog because blogs are free and would’t be removed for lack of payment. The only reason for its removal would be censorship. So if you happen to have a website about Prophecy and Salvation, I suggest that you choose the best texts you have and post them freely at Blogger (www.blogger.com) as a mirror site.
