HI John—

I’m a habitual lurker from the Bay Area in California.  I thought the Doves would be interested in this, which encouraged me about the coming election.  It relates to the post about a pastor who felt God asking him to visit a McCain/Palin rally and encourage the candidates that Sarah Palin would be a modern-day Esther.

My favorite Bible teacher, Beth Moore, has a new Bible study coming out this month, called “Esther: It’s Tough Being a Woman”.  I lead a women’s Bible Study so I was very interested to see a preview of this one.  Beth Moore studies are in the format of a workbook for home study and discussion, coupled with a series of one-hour videos of Beth’s teaching.  Each series she does has its own “theme” that fits with what she is trying to teach.  As she teaches, there is always a carefully decorated set behind her that sets the theme, and she also often does intros “on site” at a particular location.  Well, when I went to the Lifeway website and looked at a preview of the videos, I was stunned to see that the setting they have chosen was the Washington, D.C.!  The intro was filmed with Beth standing in front of the White House, and her set looks like the Oval Office!  Now, I know that this study has been in the works for a long time, and the videos must have been recorded way before there was any discussion of Sarah Palin being with McCain on the ticket….so, it was encouraging to me and, I hope is an indication that God has plans for this election that will surprise the pollsters!  You can see the video clips here:
