Dear Marilyn,I recently noticed the same thing about that verse you quote:in verse 44, he said, "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an HOUR as ye think not the Son of man cometh." HE LEFT OUT THE DAY.I was almost ready to post (on the Doves) the idea that we may as well admit that He is coming when we think not because of this verse and the Holy Spirit told me to look up that verse and I said, "Why, I've read it a thousand times and it says we will not know when..." But I obeyed and looked it up. Then I saw what you have also seen, that Jesus never said DAY and hour but only in such an HOUR, which means we can know the day. This was probably two or three weeks ago when we were looking for September 29 and nothing happened and I was once again becoming discouraged as we often get after these dates go by. Like you, I had never noticed that distinction before. How amazing! It is like when Jesus was walking with His disciples after His resurrection and they were talking with Him on the road to Emmaus but didn't recognize Him until the scales fell off their eyes. We look at it for years but do not see it until now!Luke 24:13. And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
14. And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15. And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16. But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.We also are communing together and reasoning and Jesus Himself may be drawing near and going with us right now to open our eyes again so that we can see Him coming back for us.I have to wonder what does the village called Emmaus represent and what does that name mean, anyone? It sounds like Emmanuel, God with us.Matthew 1:23. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
