Since I don't believe in coincidence, I thought it especially Providential that John's verse for today (October 25th) coincides with the verse in the devotional I've been reading, "Streams in the Desert" (original copyright 1925; updated 1997):

    "Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.  Ask
     and you will receive, and your joy will be complete." John 16:24

October 21st verse:

"Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a
building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands."
II Cor. 5:1

Isn't this the same day the fires started in CA?

October 22:

"Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.  There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush."  Exo. 3:1-2

October 23:

"Not one word has failed of all the good promises He gave."  I Kings 8:56

October 24:

"I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp."  Is. 41:15
