We lived there too, and have grieved over having to leave our church
there, North Coast Calvary Chapel in Carlsbad. We had to leave because
I was sensitive to the flower growing chemicals in our condo's area. I
miss the sea, the rocks on the beach(I have a beautiful collection
which my grandson draws pictures of) and our church. Not to speak of
Jimbo's Natural Foods--ever tried the sausages?--a way to have yummy
food and still not get sick. But I feel the Lord wanted us to be here in the desert (northern New
Mexico) for a reason and actually drove us here.
Not for survival, as there are lots of people in your area who deserve
to "survive" as much as we do, but for some reason not completely
clear. His will is mysterious. Here, we were decimated by a fire in 2000. The Cerro Grande fire which
was started by a controlled burn in a national park and headed for town
on a 60 mile and hour wind. We have not been secure ever since, so we
didn't come here for security!Maybe we came for our unsaved relatives here.
Anyway, I am watching the TV pictures showing the dense smoke covering
areas I know well, such as Del Mar, which was ten miles south of where
we live.Once, when we lived there, fire threatened to burn to the coast, so we
slept in our clothes and shoes, ready to leave on a moment's notice.Glad you are safe so far! Bless you.
