"Ethics test: What would
you do?"
Please consider the below ethics dilemmas and decide what you would
do.
A professor in a college ethics class presented his students with an
ethics problem for their consideration and decision as to a course of
action.
He said, "A man has syphilis and his wife has tuberculosis. They
have had four children; one has died, the other three have what is
considered to be a terminal illness. The mother is pregnant again. What
do you recommend?"
After a spirited discussion, the majority of the class voted that she
should have an abortion.
"Fine," said the professor. "You've just killed
Beethoven."

More:
1. There is a preacher and wife who are very, very, poor. They
already have 14 kids. Now she finds out she is pregnant with number 15.
They are living in tremendous poverty. Considering their poverty and the
excessive world population, would you consider recommending she get an
abortion?
2. A white man raped a 13-year-old black girl, and she got
pregnant. If you were her parents, would you considering recommending
abortion?
3. A poor black family in the South is expecting a
fifth child. This family, because of its skin color, already has
difficulty receiving help and are already at the bare minimum poverty
level. The outlook for their present children does not look bright.
Abortion?
4. A teenage girl is pregnant. She is not married. Her fiance is
not the father of the baby, and he is very upset. Would you consider
recommending abortion?
If you answered yes to the above:
In the first case, you have just killed John Wesley, one of the great
evangelists in the 19th century.
In the second case, you have killed Ethel Waters, the great black gospel
singer.
In the third case, you have just killed Martin Luther King.
If you said yes to the fourth case, you have just declared the murder of
Jesus Christ!!
