Dear friends:This true story recently came to my attention.
A certain church is located near a large university. Many Muslim
students from Middle Eastern countries are enrolled at that university. The pastor decided he wanted to try to reach them, so he begin making
friends among them. With one student, he decided to give him a
Bible. The Muslim student reciprocated and gave the pastor a copy of
the Koran. They agreed to read each other's book.A few days later they got together. The Muslim student asked, "Have
you ever read that book in the Bible titled John?"The pastor replied, "Yes, many times."
"Have you read chapter 8?" the Muslim asked.
"Yes."
The Muslim replied, "I was shocked that Jesus forgave the woman
caught in adultery. In my religion and culture, she would have been killed."The Person of Jesus, the Son of God, jumped out of the pages of the
Bible and into this Muslim's heart. I do not know what happened
after that, but I suspect that because of the pastor's efforts and
the power of God's Word, this Muslim eventually received Christ and
trusted Him for his salvation.I share this story to demonstrate the importance of reaching out and
loving people, even those in false religions or no religion, and
sharing the gospel with them, in any creative way the Lord may
lead. When we do that, it is the life of Christ in us revealing
Himself to a lost world. Remember: He came to seek and to save the
lost (Luke 19:10), and not to condemn the world, but through Him that
the world might be saved (John 3:17).Jim
