"What happened to October
12?"
Dear friends:
Iran promised a devastating response and event on October 12.
"Supporters of the Zionist regime will receive their response during
the world Quds Day's rallies," Iranian government spokesman
Gholam-Hossein Elham said at a weekly press conference Wednesday.
IsraelNN.com says "Iran has promised a devastating 'final response'
to supporters of the Jewish State on October 12, the Islamic Republic's
Quds (Jerusalem) Day."
Those quotes are from a named "Iranian government spokesman,"
not just an anonymous source, and also a reputable Israeli news
agency.
What happened? Whatever they had in mind on October 12 was a big
fizzle. I see four possibilities.
1. From the Internet, I previously reported, "In 2007, Eid
al-Fitr is on Friday, the 12th of October. Based on
sightability in North America, in 2007 Eid al-Fitr will start in
North America a day later - on Saturday, the 13th of
October." I don't understand that but for whatever reason
that writer believes the day is extended over to October 13.
2. Or, the whole thing was just a big lie to cause fear and make
Israel and the West nervous, which is what terrorism is all about.
I have learned that Muslims are notorious liars and have no regard for
the truth. That makes sense because their spiritual father is the
"father of lies" (John 8:44). Iran's President, Mahmoud
Ahmadinenutjob, has proven to be a blatant liar. Keep this
propensity to lie in mind any time you read news reports from any Muslim
government. You cannot believe them.
{The other day a reader attacked me for saying something unkind about
terrorists, who murder innocent people, saying Jesus would never do
that. I could not believe it. I don't know what Bible she
reads. It is amazing what false religious preconceptions some
people have. Jesus sometimes used very harsh words, calling some
people "snakes, vipers, hypocrites," etc. And Paul said, “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons” (Titus
1:12). The real Jesus or Paul might make your Sunday School class
or sweet ladies' fellowship group very uncomfortable!}
3. Or, Iran had actually planned something but it did not
work. God intervened.
4. Or, they had actually planned something but plans were delayed.
If true, it will happen on a future date.
This is just a guess, but I lean toward # 2 above and that they were just
blowing smoke and making an empty threat.
We shall see. But all we have to do is keep trusting Jesus.
He has the whole world in His hands.
