"Islamic Eid Al-Fitr is October
12, 2007"
Dear friends:
(From various Internet sources....)
Eid Al-Fitr is the Islamic celebration that comes at the end of Ramadan,
which is a month of fasting, every day from dawn until sunset.
In 2007, Eid al-Fitr is on Friday, the 12th of October.
Based on sightability in North America, in 2007 Eid al-Fitr will
start in North America a day later - on Saturday, the 13th of
October.
Note that in the Muslim calander, a holiday begins on the sunset of the
previous day, so observing Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Fitr on the
sunset of Thursday, the 11th of October.
[It is interesting that Eid al-Fatr coincides with the Feast of Trumpets
on the corrected Jewish calendar. See my post about October
12, 2007 at http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/oct2007/jim109-2.htm]
Al-Quds (West-Hating) Day.
October 12 is also al-Quds Day. It's that time of year again,
and the celebrations have begun! If you're not familiar with it,
"Al Quds Day" is a day set aside by the Ayatollah Khameni and
the Islamic Revolutionary government in Iran as a day for Muslims to
march against "Western oppression." Never they mind the
oppression brought upon them by their leaders, of course. The
stability of their dictatorships depends on them directing their
peons' anger externally, does it not?
Notice that Al Quds Day falls on the last Friday of Ramadan, a day in
which all Muslims are encouraged to go to their mosques for prayer. It is
in these mosques that the "Islamic public" is so easily whipped
into a rage by their radical imams. So, in effect, this is the largest canned protest of the year.
The history of Quds Day dates back to the victory of the Islamic
Revolution in Iran 25 years ago. One of the first actions Imam Khomeini
took as leader of the newly formed Islamic Republic was to cut off the
supply of oil to the two apartheid regimes of Israel and South Africa and
put sanctions on both of them. He inaugurated Al-Quds day as an integral
part of Ramadhan so that Muslims would never forget their responsibility
and duty towards Palestine and all oppressed people in the world.
As previousy mentioned, IsraelNN.com says "Iran has promised a
devastating 'final response' to supporters of the Jewish State on October
12, the Islamic Republic’s Quds (Jerusalem) Day."
For more about this threat and "final response" see http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/123724.
It's interesting that Ayatollah Khameni set up al-Quds Day to coincide
with Eid Al-Fitr. It is obviously a singular day when Muslim furor
and rage is whipped up to the maximum. If Iran scores some kind of
successful attack against the West on that day, military, economic, or
otherwise, the Muslims will literally go crazy and berserk.
But what else is new? For them, that's normal behavior!
