"Addendum ... and encouragement"

Shalom Peggy J. and all dear Doves,

There may be significant overlap of many time-lines (put forth here)
with many things prophesied yet to happen. But we must all guard
against fitting scripture to our ideas. We are to be conformed
instead, to the Word.

We may be encouraged that one, even so loved as Daniel, was not
enabled to understand the words given to him.  Like Daniel, we
especially need to be honest, since God sees and knows our heart.

It is true, we can't really know anything, unless it has first been
given to us from above .. as was given to Peter about Jesus, the
Messiah, the Son of the Living God.

And it is also true, that we now know in part, and so need each other,
under God's gracious gifting, to put it together. (And in the near
future, this may be acutely vital.)

As much as we may like to be raptured out of trouble before it
happens, we need to instead, seek firstly, what God wants of us ...
and so has for us.

I haven't found yet where scripture clearly teaches a ' 7 ' year great
tribulation. There seems to be instead (several) periods of 3.5 years,
42 months, 1260 days,  etc.  And these may have different or
partially-overlapping aspects. One in particular that seems to overlap
- that made me aware of this - was this:

the 2 witnesses seem to have a period that ends before this AC period
ends.

Re 11:3  And I give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall
prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in
sackcloth.

Re 13:5  And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things
and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and
two months.

May I share '3' that have been my continual encouragement and lamp:

Ps 25:14  The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he
will shew them his covenant.

Pr 1:23  Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit
unto you, I will make known my words unto you

Joh 7:17  If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine,
whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

Re. > The Mayan calendar abruptly ends on 2012 ...

We also need to guard against turning to pagan sources for
information, even though that may indeed confirm a thing. Our hope is
in our faithful Lord, who raises the dead:

"...we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not
trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead."

I do believe that many, in this generation, will not sleep. But we
will all be changed.
