I hope he and others in the world realize that there
are many Christians in the USA who are supportive of Israel and are appalled
at what our government is trying to do. This is one of the areas
I feel so helpless in. There are many more but I think this bothers
me the most.
I pray for peace in Jerusalem and that Israel will remain
whole. I also pray for God to place His shield over Israel and draw
His People back into His Fold. I pray for a hedge of protection around
her and for the protection of the IDF.
I feel a pervasive sadness over what is happening there.
I don't understand how anyone can pretend to feel positive and encouraged
by any statements that come out of the PA, Syria or Iran. I don't
feel so great about Turkey, Iraq or Saudi Arabia either. I was appalled
when it was announced the UAE was going to be in charge of our ports.
Based on the events since 1979, I really do not trust anyone who states
they are Muslim. How can our leadership even pretend that the meeting
in Annapolis will bring about anything good? Look at the history
of these "land for peace" meetings in the past.
My heart is burdened for Israel and the people of Jerusalem.
I am fully aware of God's promise in Genesis 12:3 and my heart is also
burdened for the USA. We are being judged by God but our leaders
do not even seem to realize this. Another thing that is puzzling
to me - They claim to be Christians. Are their eyes blinded to what
is actually happening here? Are they deceived? I also pray
for our people (2 Chronicles 7:14) to humble themselves and pray and seek
His face and turn from their wicked ways.
The news reports I read and post here just reinforce
how far from God our nation has gone.
Many of us remember better days, days when we had so
much more freedom. In those bygone days, my friends and I rode the
city bus downtown to "window shop", to go to the local drugstore for cherry
cokes, or to go to the downtown indoor picture show. We were free
to walk the city streets without being accosted by unfriendly folks.
We rode our bicycles all over the neighborhood. We went to church
and asked our friends to go with us. They were not offended and usually
went. We rarely heard cursing because that happened in bars and we
didn't go there. The same deacon who taught my father in Sunday School,
taught me in Training Union and later taught my children.
There were no abortions, at least not legal abortions.
There were a couple of rough girls in my class who became pregnant before
graduation and before marriage and dropped out of school. Not many
though. And we did not have birth control readily available.
No condems from the principal's office and we did not have birth control
pills at that time either. If we had, no doctor would have prescribed
them for an unmarried teen.
Drugs? The football team had their beer parties
after the Big Game but it was done in secret and I never even heard a whisper
about that until I was a senior. No drugs in college either that
I heard of.
We prayed at football games, at basketball games, at
baseball games, at all club meetings (all had a "chaplain"), at the beginning
of the school day, at graduation, and any other time we felt like praying.
The Ten Commandments were publicly displayed where ever and whenever we
wanted to display them. Manger scenes were common all over town -
in front of schools, public buildings, store windows, colleges, parks,
churches, and private homes. I never heard of anyone being offended
by any of it. Noone demanded equal time for their religious symbols.
We had no Muslims, no Hindus, no Buddhists - just Catholics, Protestants
and Jews. We got along just fine.
What a different world we live in today! Muslims
in prison are suing the government because they didn't like the menu for
Ramadan!? The Ten Commandments are forbidden in public places and
non-Christians are trying to get them removed from the private sector as
well. The capstone of the Washington Monument is being displayed
in a manner eliminating the inscription about God.
Our churches resemble malls complete with coffee shops
and book stores than places to worship God. We are being fed Pablum
from the pulpits. Can you say Apostasy?!
Those are just a few of the issues. We are not
just loosing our freedom, we are giving our freedoms and our rights away!
I am so ready for all of this to end and the Rapture
to come. Come now, Lord Jesus!!
Blessings to all
