To all,
I live in Long Beach and we are in no danger. Although we can smell the
smoke and have to deal with the ash that is nothing compared to those in
San Diego and Orange County. That being said, this past week, on Pastors
Perspective, Pastor Chuck Smith made a very interesting comment on the
fires/drought that we are currently experiencing. He said, that in biblical
days, these would have been called judgements of God. Now we call them
"natural disasters".One cannot help but connect the dots to all the recent anti-family pro
homosexual bills that are continuously passed and signed into law. The
most recent was SB777 which as you all know, now forbids our School Books
to use the phrase Mom and Dad, Husband or Wife. In addition, if a student
feels that they are transgender, they can use either boys or girls
rest-rooms and locker rooms. This bill was signed into law and only a few
days later, we here in So Cal are engulfed in now over 16 separate fires.
One cannot but wonder, is there a connection? Another point of interest is
that the most heavily affected areas are considered the more Conservative/
Christian based parts of California. Could it be that the Lord is speaking
to his Church and telling us to repent and pray more fervently. After all
if this were San Francisco, I wonder if there would be great prayers and
repentance. I think not. Perhaps more fist shaking toward the creator.
Maybe that is why God choose to inflict this on an area that has the most
potential to turn toward him and pray. That is my perspective.David Molina
