"Prophetic Psalms"

I've heard that some people believe that the Psalms are prophetic in that the chapters map to years.  So Psalms 48 would map to 1948, etc.

Psalms 48:6  "Fear took hold of them there, as pain, as of a woman in travail."

Some believe this speaks of Israel becoming a nation in 1948.  Isaiah 66:8 also relates giving birth to this event: "Who has heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be  born at once? for as soon as Zion TRAVAILED, she brought forth her children."

Psalms 107 (which may correspond to 2007) might be alluding to the rapture:

Psalms 107:2  "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; 3: AND GATHERED THEM out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south."

Psalms 109 (which would correspond to 2009) may be speaking of the antichrist:

Psalms 109:6  Set a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand and his right hand.

* Note that as a result of recent moves in the EU, the post of President of the EU will most likely be created in 2009.

If the tribulation starts in 2010 (this would give three years after the rapture for the antichrist to come to power and the battle of Gog/Magog) then Jesus would return in 2017 to setup his thousand year kingdom (one jubilee or 50 years) after Jerusalem was recapture by the Jews.

Psalm 117:1 (which would be 2017): "Praise the Lord, ALL nations praise him, ALL people.  2: For his merficul kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Prase the Lord."

Note that chapter 117 is unique in that it's only two verses, and states that ALL people praise and worship him.  After Jesus comes and destroys the wicked, the only ones left in the nations will be those who praise him!

Psalms 118 (corresponds to 2018, the year following Jesus' return to earth and during his thousand year kingdom:

Psalms 118:2    "Let Israel NOW say, that his mercy endurth forever."

Psalms 118:22  "The stone which the builders refused has become the cornerstone."

Psalms 118:24  "This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."

The above scripures may be telling of the time in 2018 when Israel will have finally accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  The reference to 'day which the Lord has made' could be referring to the day of the Lord, or the day (thousand years) of rest during the thousand year kingdom.

We'll know very shortly if Psalms 117 is referring to the rapture!   God Bless!
