After doing much
research though, I cannot say I agree with y'all about this
though.
And honestly ~ I’m not
looking to start a big brawl here – that is certainly not my intent.... not
AT ALL!! Just want to point out a few things for
those who may be on the bubble themselves
& can make a better decision by having
more information.
1. Peggy says “If it feels
right, do it” (or don’t do it, but
go by what FEELS right) Pretty
sure I know what you
mean ;-) but I just kept thinking there’s GOT to
be Scripture that
clues us in here –
without our having to go by “feelings”
2. Jason advises (which is actually good
advice to put on Christian music) ~
but then to “have
fun” with it [passing
out goodies at Halloween] ~ I dunno ~ I just cannot bring myself to “have
fun” with something
that clearly glorifies satan! It’s satan's high holy
day, you know!
3. Jason also says we have freedom in
Christ. I agree – up to a
certain extent. We have
freedom on how we
choose to live our lives, how we will dress today, what we’ll eat at lunch,
how we’ll respond to
questions asked, etc. But the conflict comes when Scripture expressly
tells us to avoid
something! Then ~ there
should be NO conflict at all, really. Scripture
should trump each
& every time! We do not
have freedom to choose the wrong thing if it’s
something that
Scripture specifically addresses.
While praying about
this & asking the Lord ~ “what do we do?” The Scripture just kept coming to
me
[goes to show the
importance of hiding God’s Word in our hearts that we might not sin against Him!
~
the more of it we have
in our hearts, the more of it the Holy Spirit can use to guide our lives]
Anyway, the Scripture kept
coming to me: “have no fellowship with the UNFRUITFUL WORKS OF
DARKNESS” Ephesians
5:11
So with those words, I googled & came
across oodles of sites. Perhaps
someone here will find something helpful here. I know I did. And as a result, we will NOT be doing
Halloween this year (or any other
year). By this decision, it is our will to honor &
please the Lord.
BTW, Chuck Missler says
that for a Christian to celebrate Halloween -- that's like Holocaust survivors
celebrating Hitler's
birthday!! food for
thought!

And I was even grossed out at the thought of slaughters, animal
& human sacrifices happening on Halloween!! (wonder how often this
happens ~ all in the name of "fun"!!) I'm telling you, Christians, we need to be praying!

[just FTR: I don’t have time to read every word of
every site I surf; however did want to say that I agreed with everything I read
at “liberty to the captives” with the BIG, HUGE exception that they say Jesus
will come POST-trib.
Definitely don’t agree with
that!! :) Both OT & NT Scriptures are clear
about the rapture being PRE-trib & by all the signs of the times (and times
of the signs) it's just got to be soon!
