Faith and Doubting:
What is faith? The definition in Hebrews is this: Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith, is the result of our prayers, and the desires of our hearts. When we pray to God with a heart that is believing, then the results are those things that we were believing God for.If our hearts are filled with fear and doubt, then that means that we don't believe in God, or His promises to us. We try to solve our own problems. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord. ( people do not trust in God) With all thine heart. ( that means with everything that you think and feel ) It doesn't say 25% of your heart. It doesn't say with 50% of your heart. It says with all of your heart. And lean not to your own understanding. ( don't try to figure it out.) People don't think that God knows what is going on in their lives. They think that He is way off in some far away place. The Bible says that the very hairs of our head are numbered. How many people know the number of the hairs on their head? God knows. He knows every cell in our bodies. But people still go around saying, God doesn't know what I am going through. God doesn't understand. That is why Jesus came. So that He can say that He does understand. Jesus felt hunger, and thirst. He was tempted, but without sin. He knew what it was like to be tired. He even knows what it is like to suffer and die. Yes, I would say that God does know what we are going through.
In all your way acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths. How do we acknowledge God? By telling Him how thankful we are for things. Thank Him for your lives. Thank Him for the house that you live in. Thank Him for everything that you own, and that you
would not have anything, if it was not for Him. He provides food, water, and air. If we did not have these things we would die. Acknowledge Him for the gift of the Bible. That is His word to us, to guide us and to teach us. If we follow the teachings of God and Jesus, then our lives will be in perfect peace and harmony with each other and all of nature. As we draw closer to God with our lives, then God draws closer to us. He fills us with His Holy Spirit, and that Spirit is what gives us knowledge, and understanding of the things of God. The Spirit dwelling in us, is what gives us power against the enemy. And most of all, thank Him for the
gift of His son Jesus. Without Him, we would not be free of our sins, and not have the hope of eternal life.If you have a financial problem, do you pray to God to solve it, or do you go around trying to solve it on your own? Give your problems to God. He is our Heavenly Father. He wants to do good things for His children. Pray and say, " God I can not solve this problem on my own, so I am trusting you and putting this problem in your hands." Then stop worry about it and wait on God to work.
Some will say, " well, I had better have a back up plan, just in case God doesn't pull through." If you say this, then you still do not fully trust God with everything in your life.
Faith is the substance (end result) of things Hoped for. The evidence of things not seen.
Do you say, "I do not see any hope for me. I can not see any way out of this situation."?
This is doubt, the opposite of faith. No matter how hard thing come to us in our lives, God
always see us through. He gives us the strength to go on. He comforts us and gives us inner peace. So many people put their trust in other people, but people can fail you. Many put their trust in
possessions, but those things can be taken away. Only those things that are from above last.
Soon, when God pours out His judgments upon this earth, those who are trusting God with the little things in their lives now, will be able to trust God with the big things in their lives when life gets hard. Do you have faith? Do you really trust God? God will be separating the sheep from the goats. Those who truly believe, from those who are just professing believers.Susan
