"God hates pride"

God hates pride. Read through the different passages in the Bible and it is emphasized over and over again. God hates pride. Why is this? It is because of Satan.
Lucifer was a very beautiful and powerful angel in Heaven. He had a very important position.
He stood behind the throne of God and spread his wings out over His throne, as a covering.
Lucifer also had a beautiful singing voice, and led the choirs of angels in their singing in Heaven. Lucifer became proud of his beauty. He must have been greatly admired by the angels. So much so, that he was Idolized, like people of today idolize actors, or ballplayers.
He doesn't have the powers to create, like God has, but he felt that he could sit in a position
of authority equal with God's to rule. He wanted to be able to have rule over the angels of Heaven. Lucifer staged a major revolt in heaven, and had so much influence, that a third of the angels took his side. God decided to cast Lucifer out of Heaven, like a parent would cast a rebellious child out of his house. He was cast into the 2nd Heaven, where he is called the prince of the power of the air.

Lucifer wanted to show God that he had the power to influence his new creation, Adam and Eve. We don't know how long Adam and Eve were in the garden, or how long it took Lucifer to tempt Eve. He started out, by putting doubt in her mind about the authority of God. Are you sure, he would ask her. He showed her the beauty of the fruit, eye appeal, and the benefits of it. She finally broke down and tried it. Satan is still putting doubt in peoples minds, concerning the things of God.

When Eve ate the fruit, the same spirit of rebellion that was in Satan, entered her.
The same spirit of pride. People of today still carry that same spirit in them. They are
filled with pride. They are filled with rebellion. People who are filled with pride, have trouble forgiving others. I guess that it is the same thing, as when people are embarrassed to admit that they have made a mistake. It is that spirit of pride that is residing in them.

If a small child is standing in the living room with no one else around, and accidentally knocks
a lamp off the table so that it breaks, when the mother comes in to see what happened,
she will ask, "Did you break that lamp?" The small child will shake their head, and say no. The child was not taught to lie, It just comes naturally. I have seen parents smacking their children's legs, to try and get them to sit down. They will say that the child has a stubborn streak in them. It is that spirit of pride and rebellion.

People still have that spirit of rebellion in them. The same spirit that Lucifer had in Heaven.
What happens when people are filled with pride? They become unthankful. They go around
bragging about their great achievements. When people become proud and boastful,
God brings them down. He humbles them, to show that they are nothing without Him.
How many time have you heard stories from people who went through this humbling process?
They will tell how they were a great and famous person, They had accumulated a great
amount of wealth, then they lost everything. They hit bottom. They had reached the end of the trail. Then they discover God. They turn their lives over to Him, and become a new creation. They had to be humbled first. Here are some saying from the book of Proverbs;
6:16-17 These six things doth the Lord hate, yea seven are an abomination unto him.
A proud look...(The first thing he mentions here has to do with pride.) 8:13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the forward mouth, do I hate. Here is the most famous of the Proverbs. 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction,  and an haughty spirit before a fall.

America is filled with pride. This spirit of rebellion and arrogance. That is why God is
about to bring her down. She is about to go through a time of humbling.
Christians who have been asleep, will go through a time of revival. A time of awaking from
their slumber. Revive means to bring something that has died, back to life. Dead churches
are going to be filled with this new breath from the Spirit of God.
