Hello Paolo,
It wasn't pointed at you, it was pointed at the article. I have a tendency to believe that the Jews don't trust the Muslims around them. For good reason. We know that they will be attacked by Muslim nations during the Gog/Magog war. We know that in Zechariah 12 the surrounding nations aim to wipe them off the map and God will confuse them (evidence of this was illustrated in the Yom Kippur war along the Syrian Front - They retreated). Sorry, but one of the main characteristics is that the Anti-Christ will actually bring peace to Israel (if for only 3.5 years). I just cannot forsee the Jews handing their security over to a Muslim/Arab. Especially in light of recent events and biblical prophecy concerning the reborn Israeli state.
Zechariah 12:1-4
1. The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
2. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah [and] against Jerusalem.
3. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
4. In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.
Besides, Daniel 9 talks about the people of the "Prince" that is to come destroying the temple and causing "desolations until the end." This was done by a ROMAN army, led by ROMAN generals. Then that "Prince" is the one that makes/strengthens a covenant with MANY only to take away the sacrafice and offerings at the temple in the middle of the seven year period. If the people of the "Prince" are ROMAN, then the "Prince" must come from there as well.
Daniel 9:26-27
26: And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
27: And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
In 70AD on the 9th of Av, the Roman legion under the command of Titus Vespasian destroyed the 2nd Temple (accidentally as Titus wanted it as a Treasure Piece.) As prophesied by the book of daniel. Christ was cut off after the 69th week. Then the Romans came and destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple. They further routed all of the jews, forcing them to be dispersed around the world. This also reflects what was said in Amos 9.
Amos 9:1-4
1. I saw the Lord standing upon the altar: and he said, Smite the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in the head, all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the sword: he that fleeth of them shall not flee away, and he that escapeth of them shall not be delivered.
2. Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:
3. And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them:
4. And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.
That was fulfilled in 70 from 1948 (it ended with the Holocaust and the creation of the State of Israel).
Here is some more from Amos 9
8. Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD [are] upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD.
9. For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as [corn] is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.
Again, 70AD. And as Daniel 9 says, the "Prince" comes from the people who will destroy Jerusalem and the Temple after the Death of the Messiah. Well, that was the Romans and not the Arabs. The Arabs are the ones that will want to destroy Israel according to Zechariah 12 (funny that looks like today). So what you are espousing is the idea that idea of a man with a hit out for him, asking the hitman he knows is going to kill him to protect him from the hitman? What do you think the hitman will do? I highly doubt the Jews would be sooooo foolish. Now someone from Europe is a far more likely scenario.
