Jan Mikael in his post of Oct 23 referenced Matthew 22:2-9 as a parable
of the repture and that not all Christians might partake of the "first (?)"
rapture.
I was reading Matthew 22 several weeks ago and it struck me as I read the
parable that it was related to the rapture because the King issued a command
to COME to the feast.
Matt.22:2-5
"And
he sent out his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast,
and they were unwilling to come. Again he sent out other slaves saying, 'Tell
those who have been invited, "Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and
my fattened livestock are {all} butchered and everything is ready; come
to the wedding feast.'""But they paid no attention and went their
way, one to his own farm, another to his business,"
In previous studies of the raptures in the Bible the command to "Come"
is frequently observed. Noah was commanded to "Come into the ark" (Genesis7:1),
John the Revelator was commanded to "come up here" at Revelation 4:1, the
two witnesses were commanded to "come up here" at Revelation 11:12.
In each case sited and in other "raptures" in the bible, (Elijah at 2Kings
2:11) God does not force His will, to participate is optional. Noah chose
to trust God and he entered the ark, Elijah chose to trust God and he entered
the chariot of fire.
We have to chose to obey God.
If I read what Jan Mikael was saying it is that some Christians will chose
not to participate in the rapture out of disobedience to God's command.
When Jesus cries "Come" at the rapture will you obey? Or are there things
in this world so attractive to you that you do not want to leave behind? See
the response of Lot's wife at Genesis 19:26.
