"Christian Zionism"

re: the article Donna posted:  "53% Of Americans Don't Believe Israel Must Have All The Promised Land Including Jerusalem to Facilitate 2nd Coming of Messiah"  "[Only] 53% of Americans don't believe Israel must have all of the promised land, including Jerusalem, to facilitate the second coming of the messiah "                                                              ----------*---------- This poll phrased "Christian Zionism" in a strange/misleading way.  I'm afraid many people read it the same way I did.  No where in scripture (to my knowledge) does it say that Jesus is prohibited in His second coming if the Jews don't occupy ALL of the ancient Promised Land. And no where did I find the definition of Christian Zionism stated in such a way.  Below, is what I found online, which concurs with my personal beliefs.  The fact that God caused the Jews to be gathered back to their homeland, in itself was miraculous. It was most assuredly an Act of God at His appointed TIME.  I think the timing and the regathering to the land is the key, not the exact square footage of ground they now occupy almost 60 years later.  ~~Kay  JMHO
  • Christian supporters of Israel whose support is based on a literal reading of the Book of Revelation that talks of the need for the ingathering of Jews before the Second Coming of Christ can occur.

  • Christian Zionism is the belief among some Christians that the return of the Jews to the Holy Land, and the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, is in accordance with Biblical prophecy, and is a necessary precondition for the return of Jesus to reign on Earth. This belief is commonly though not exclusively associated with evangelical Protestants in the United States.
