Hey this is really interesting !! The Ottoman Empire was powerful in its own right. The Ottoman empire did fall during WW1. See below from a website the information about Iraq and its three divisions. The Ten Horns - areten provinces that were drawn up by Britain following the defeat of Turkey, and the fall of the Turkish - Ottoman/Islamic Empire during World War One, in the years 1920-1922.They were Basrah, Baghdad, Mosul, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, Persia now called Iran, and Egypt. Under British Mandate Basrah, Baghdad and Mosul were later consolidated into the province of Iraq. This agrees with Daniel in that the "little horn" uproots three of the original ten, and so Iraq is the little horn mentioned by Daniel. Interestingly enough, Iraq is still divided into the three provinces of Basrah, Baghdad and Mosul.References for the above can be found in any good encyclopedia under the History of the Middle East following World War I. The British Mandates and Protectorates of the Middle East after WWI. The Turkish Campaigns of World War I, and in the individual histories of Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, Iran, Egypt, and Iraq. (1920 - 1923).
Iraq is divided into three regions that were previously the provinces of Basrah, Baghdad, and Mosul. The 'little horn' of Daniel, that uproots three, is the nation of Iraq itself.
These are the ten horn/kingdoms of Daniel, and Revelation: Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, Persia now called Iran, Egypt, (Basra, Baghdad and Mosul) = Iraq. Daniel 7: 7-8 / 23-25. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast - Revelation 17: 13.
