"Re: TIM MCHYDE, AND THE DOVES DIVIDING GODS LAND"

The idea you proposed  is that Daniel 11:31's "abomination of desolation" is the yet future one done by the Antichrist.  This definitely is worth consideration.  However, what Antiochus Epiphanes did by stopping the sacrifices and setting up a statue of Jupiter/Zeus fits this verse nicely.  Further the following passage about those who stood up doing exploits and also "fall" fits the Maccabean revolt:

Daniel 11:32-35 (NIV) 32 With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him. 33 "Those who are wise will instruct many, though for a time they will fall by the sword or be burned or captured or plundered. 34 When they fall, they will receive a little help, and many who are not sincere will join them. 35 Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.

But notice verse 35, saying this process of purification of God's wise will continue "until the time of the end".  Well, if verse 35 and prior, including your verse 31, are already the time of the end of the Antichrist as you propose, then it makes no sense to say that the exploits and falling and refining of those who opposed the abomination of desolation and the king of the north doing it will continue until the time of the end.  So verse 31 must referring to what Antiochus, the type of the Antichrist, did in the past before the time of the end.  Make sense?

Before I looked into this because of your question I was not so sure of this conclusion as I am now.  Thanks!

Kind Regards,

Tim McHyde
