Greetings Doves; It is unfortunately quite noticable how the name of our Lord Jesus is taken in vain or used idly. From most English speaking nations to the mountains of Tibet to the jungles of South America, using our Lord name in vain is ubiquitious -- even in lands where English language is not prominent at all.It goes without saying we never hear anyone say 'Oh Bhudda", or 'Oh Mohammed', when anger flairs; nor should we. I would never endorse taking anyones name in vain. The point here is that the taking of our Lord's name in vain is NO Accident -- to be certain its use is spiritual in nature. The unclean spirit of blasphemy. The world is in some wicked spiritual warefare -- and some are quite unconsciencous of it as seen in the use of our Lord's name. There is an interesting passage in Acts
19 : 17 . This became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, who lived in Ephesus; and fear fell upon them all and the name of the Lord Jesus was being magnified. 18 . Many also of those who had believed kept coming, confessing and disclosing their practices. 19 . And many of those who practiced magic brought their books together and began burning them in the sight of everyone; and they counted up the price of them and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. If the above we being actively preached and "being lived' today I wonder how many Harry potter magic books would go up in flames. And the cost??? somehow I suspect it might be staggering. Just fotr thought.
