"2 ESDRAS 7:28 - 32"

Greetings Doves;

     There is an interesting passage from the 1611 KJV Authorized version - Apocryphal Section that is very interesting as regards to the Messiah, who He is and when He is supposed to appear: 2 Esdras 7:
28 For my son Jesus shall be revealed with those that be with him, and they that remain shall rejoice within four hundred years.
29 After these years shall my son Christ die, and all men that have life.
30 And the world shall be turned into the old silence seven days, like as in the former judgments: so that no man shall remain.
31 And after seven days the world, that yet awaketh not, shall be raised up, and that shall die that is corrupt
32 And the earth shall restore those that are asleep in her, and so shall the dust those that dwell in silence, and the secret places shall deliver those souls that were committed unto them.

     The Apocrypha (Greek for "hidden") were part of the Alexandria Codex which eventually became the Septuagint. About 60-70% of the First Testament (OT) citations/quotations in the Second Testament (NT) are derived from the Septuagint (LXX) as opposed to the diplomatic Hebrew Masoretic text.

     2 Esdras = 4 Ezra, In the Septuagint the book of Ezra is epigrapha Esdras. That ! & 2 Esdras did not make it into the Hebrew canon was partly due to the existence of only Greek vorlages and no Hebrew source text. The content however appears reliable.

     It is interesting that the KJV gives Our Lord's name -- Jesus (Yeshua); as name changes (from Immanuel -- Isa 7:14) to Jesus are significant events.

     Just wanted to share this.

P.S. BTW Changing calendar designations from BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini) to BCE (Before the common era) and CE (Common era) DOES NOT improve the accuracy of the date of Yeshua's birth, political correctness just dates His birth as 6 BCE instead of 6 BC. Note there is no increase in accuracy just an increase of political correctness. As for me and my house,,, we will not comprise with "linguistic high places" and thereby "De-Christ" our calendar.  For some Christ will be a burdensome stone no matter how much one compromises the language.
