No, Michael, the Rapture definitely doesn't need to happen on a feast day.  Read this marvelous article by Alan Yusko, entitled "Rapture On a Routine Day":

Life will be continuing as it normally does, day in and day out, until Yeshua comes to take us Home!  I think it very well COULD happen on a feast day, however, because the feasts parallel the death and resurrection of Yeshua, the Rapture, etc., etc., but man's calendars are not necessarily in sync with God's calendar, so perhaps it will occur on GOD'S set time for a particular feast?  I know I'm ready when He is!!!  :-)
 
And you are SO right... the "baby's about to be born"!!!  Check my daily postings "New for Today" and you will see that cataclysmic events are happening DAILY these days, not just every 2-3 weeks!  It's mind-boggling to me that not many Christians are seeing these signs for what they are!!!
