"HEAVENLY FIRE"
Hi Doves,
We understand from scripture that the Lord's coming for
us will be accompanied with heavenly fire. This is no ordinary fire, it
will radiate from the Lord Jesus Christ Himself!
"...the Lord Jesus shall be REVEALED from heaven with
his mighty angels, IN FLAMING FIRE taking vengeance on them that know not
God...who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence
of the Lord..." (2 Thess.1:7-9)
What many have not understood is that the flaming fire
that is going to consume many (not all) of the ungodly, is also going to
glorify the saints. This fire is going to give us our glorified bodies.
This is why the scripture says:
"The Lord...shall come to be glorified IN his saints..."
(2 Thess.1:9,8)
"Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath SHINED.
Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: A FIRE shall devour before
him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. He shall call to
the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.
Gather my saints together unto me..." (Psalm 50: 2-5)
It is important that we understand that this heavenly
fire is already in us, we call him the Spirit of Christ, or the Holy Ghost.
He is the source of our joy, peace, love, praise and righteousness.
It is because the Holy Spirit is the source of our praise,
we are going to spontaneously REJOICE when the Lord Jesus descends from
heaven. the wicked on the other hand will be consumed. The scripture tells
us this very clearly,
"Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them
also that hate him flee before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them
away: as wax melteth before the FIRE, so let the wicked perish at the PRESENCE
of God. BUT let the righteous be GLAD; let them REJOICE BEFORE GOD; YEA,
LET THEM EXCEEDINGLY REJOICE." (Psalm 68: 1-3)
It just so happens that the feast of tabernacles is the
season in which we are to rejoice.
"Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days...and
thou shalt REJOICE in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter...thou
shalt SURELY REJOICE." (Deut.16:13-15)
It almost looks like we don't have any choice in the
matter. Could it be that during this years feast of tabernacles, the Spirit
of God is going to spontaneously move all saints, in heaven and on earth
to praise God?
If you feel a sudden desire to praise the Lord during
this years feast, please don't hesitate.
I end this article with one last passage of scripture
that shows that the same heavenly fire will destroy the wicked and transform
the righteous.
"For, behold, the day cometh that shall BURN as an oven;
and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and
the day that cometh shall BURN them up, saith the Lord of hosts...But unto
you that fear my name shall the SUN of righteousness arise with healing
(salvation) in his wings..." (Mal.4:1,2)
Do remain blessed,
Ola
