If the motion is approved, the Arab bloc intends lodging a second motion to refer the case to the UN Security Council at the same time as Iran’s nuclear violations. Egypt also proposed declaring the Middle East a nuclear-free zone. The Israeli delegation to the commission Gideon Frank termed the two anti-Israeli motions “political and cynical.”
