When I young I had a friend that would make himself pass out by holding his breath.  He said that he did it all the time and you couldn’t die from it, you would just pass out and wake up, so why not try it. My point is that you may be right, and those who take the mark may find salvation, but why chance it.  You are still choosing Satan over God.  I can see where someone who doesn’t understand what he is doing might be able to take the mark and find salvation, but I think those instances will be rare. You also have a point that people make choices every day who they will serve, but I think this will be the one time in history where the line will be drawn and you will have to choose who you will serve for eternity. You may have the scripture to back you up, but there have been many times people have used scripture to justify their ideas, and not all of those ideas are right. However, this is a place where people can express there ideas about Christ, but we need to make sure we are listening to the “voice of truth”, and let our ideas fit Gods words, and not make God’s words fit our ideas.  By the way, my friend did have problems later in life and passed out while working on a ladder, fell and crushed his skull.
