"The Birth Pangs are Getting Closer"

Talk about a time where almost every hour there is something new in the news that deals with some issue concerning Bible Prophecy.
Let me give you a quick review…

Earthquakes - Pakistan - 5.1, Tonga - 5.4, Taiwan - 5.0, Papua New Guinea - 5.7, South Africa - 4.6, Japan - 4.8, India - 5.4, Chile - 5.0, Northern Peru -7.5M

And get this, on 10-21-05 London gets a 4.0… LONDON! One never hears of an earthquake in London.

Temple Mount - Israeli courts allowed the Temple Mount Faithful access to the Temple Mount so that they can conduct prayers. Temple Mount Faithful were allowed to enter the Temple Mount esplanade around 8:30 a.m. on Oct 19, 2005., escorted by numerous soldiers and policemen. They were observed praying around the Dome of the Rock and it really upset the Muslim Wakf.

Hurricanes and weather - One more has come and her name is Wilma, we are running out of names and if we get more, then we will have to go to the Greek alphabet. The strange floods and snow in the upper north east of the US.

Apostasy in the Church -

" Many churches evaluate spiritual maturity solely on the basis of how well you can identify Bible characters, interpret Bible passages, quote Bible verses, and explain biblical theology. The ability to debate doctrine is considered by some as the ultimate proof of your spirituality.

Underlying this approach is the conviction that all anyone really needs to grow spiritually is the Bible. I call churches with this emphasis - "classroom churches." Classroom churches tend to be left-brain oriented and cognitive-focused. They stress teaching Bible content and doctrine, but they give little - if any - emphasis to believers' emotional, experiential, and relational development."

This was taken from Rick Warren's article titled "Maturity requires a wide variety of spiritual experiences." Rick wrote this and sends this out to pastors from his site pastor.com. What is wrong with this picture?

2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Here is what God's word states…

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Nowhere does it say that we have to go to the world or the outside so that we can have "emotional, experiential, and relational development." Everything that we need as a Christian is found in the inerrant word of God.

Avian Flu - It is now hitting all over the world. The bird flu known as H5N1 is shaping up to become a global pandemic on a level not seen since the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic that swept the planet in the wake of World War I. According to some experts, if avian flu becomes a pandemic, there will be two types of people in the world: those who are exposed to it and die, and those who are exposed to it and live. (you will read more about this in Jack Kinsella's article "The Fear Factor")

I do not mean to be doom and gloom nor try to present that sort of picture. The goal of Prophezine is to show that the Word of God is inerrant and that it is true. Just look around you.

I do know that at times it seems really scary, but we need to remember who is in control, that is our Father in Heaven.

Now more than ever we see the Father's hand at work. Do you realize what I just said? We, living right here right now are seeing the Father's hand at work. What a wonderful time to be alive!

So don't fear, and meditate on this…

Mar 13:28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
Mar 13:29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

Whom do we serve?
By Berit Kjos

"Warren... unveiled the church's commitment to a new reformation in Christianity and vision for a worldwide spiritual awakening in the 21st Century through the PEACE Plan that he believes will mobilize one billion foot soldiers ... by the year 2020."[1]

"The last thing many believers need today is to go to another Bible study. They already know far more than they are putting into practice. What they need are serving experiences...."[2] Rick Warren, Purpose Driven Life

"'The P.E.A.C.E. plan will be a 'revolution
' for global Christianity.... I'm looking at a stadium full of people who are telling God they will do whatever it takes to establish God's Kingdom 'on earth as it is in heaven.'"[3] Rick Warren

EARTHQUAKE RESURRECTION: Supernatural Catalyst for the Coming Global Catastrophe- By David W. Lowe
Book Review by Ray Gano

"About the time of the end, a body of men will be raised up who will turn their attention to the prophecies of the Bible, and insist on their literal interpretation in the midst of much clamor and opposition." Sir Isaac Newton (AD 1643 - 1727):"

As an active, long-time student of Bible prophecy and editor of Prophezine, I am the recipient of a steady deluge of information and theories on eschatology. I enjoy the study, but one thing that I enjoy is when a plausible model regarding Bible Prophecy is presented to me. I was approached by David Lowe by email one day, which he apologized for sending because he thought I'd be too busy to read. He asked me to read his book for a possible mention on Prophezine. I agreed and he sent me his book. Once I got it, I have to say that it took some time getting into the book. David is very thorough and the first few chapters were laying the groundwork.

Resurrection: Faith vs. Science
By David Lowe

The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead into immortality is arguably the single most significant and momentous event in human history. It is the central theme of the "gospel", or good news for humanity:
I Cor 15:12 Now if Christ is being preached as raised from the dead, how can some of you say there is no resurrection of the dead?
I Cor 15:13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.
I Cor 15:14 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is futile and your faith is empty.

Paul reasoned that the entire system of Christian faith is dependent on the reality that Jesus Christ rose from the dead by the power of God and conquered the power of death. Without it, the Christian faith-the hope of resurrection and eternal life-is empty. While redemption by his shed blood on the cross is absolutely necessary to atone for sin, without the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ would be viewed as just another human being who lived and died. A revolutionary, a prophet, and a miracle-healer, but not a risen Savior.

They're Still Watching
By Troy Koehne

Just about the time you might have forgotten that "Big Brother" is around, reports come out just to let you know that they haven't forgotten about you. In fact, they are finding better ways of keeping tabs on you than you could possibly imagine.

We already know that every move we make, we are being watched. Go to you local Wal-Mart. Just stand in the parking lot and count the cameras. Step inside and there are hundreds that you can see and many more that you can't. Ever wonder why they put up hanging TV's in the place. You look up and they have your face on camera.

The 'Fear Factor'
By Jack Kinsella

I am not much for Stephen King novels, although I admit his talent is enormous. I've read several that I liked, but I've read more that I didn't.
King is a compelling writer; its just that his chosen genre is not my cup of tea.

That said, one of Steven King's novels, "The Stand" was made into a miniseries a few years ago. It was an apocalyptic morality tale that openly pitted good versus evil.

The story begins with the emergence of a strange killer virus simply called "The Flu".

The Flu races through the population, killing all but a handful of survivors with a natural immunity to the strain. King's depiction of the horror associated with such a pandemic certainly earned him his title as King of the Horror Novelists -- one is drawn into the story inexorably, relentlessly. . .

The Disappearing Doctrine of the Evangelical Church
By Mike Gendron

Many professing Christians now think it doesn't really matter what you believe, as long as you label it Christianity. Their only test for becoming a Christian is a simple acceptance of Jesus as a historical figure. In our post-modern church, doctrine is out and tolerance is in. We are told that for the sake of unity, doctrine should not be tested or contested. We are not supposed to draw any definitive lines or declare any absolutes. Doctrinal and moral issues which were once painted black and white, are now seen as gray. The state of the church is now in a state of confusion.

Paul forewarned us that this would happen when he wrote: "The time will come when they [the people in the church] will not endure [tolerate] sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths" (2 Tim. 4:3-4). When "Christians" turn to popular teachers who tickle their ears with messages on self-esteem and self-improvement, they are also turning away from God's word. Without a steady diet of Scripture, they will not hear sound doctrine and therefore be unable to discern truth from error. Ultimately, they will not know if they are following Jesus Christ or his adversary.
