In my ordinary foolish way I have run a race.
I run the race not for the crown. The crown of gold.
The crown of righteousness or even the overcomer's.
I cannot behold a mansion or the materials therein.
I can only keep my eye on "The prize."
What can be a prize more than that of a golden crown?
I long to walk beside and watch as He points to the singing flowers
or the laughing stars. I long to hear the voice that rebuked the wind.
I long to hold the hand that made the universe and the very one that
took a nail for me. For I did not diserve it. Not now, not ever.
I long to look into the warm eyes that have searched my heart long
before he created the sea and it's shore.
I long to laugh at foolishness as he sees it, not as I feel.
I long to obtain a gift of friendship that will last one more day
than forever.
He has asked me, "What my child shall I grant you?"
Looking up with a love that surpasses any knowledge of mine, I respond,
"To which of the twelve tribes do I belong?"
" I wish in my heart of hearts to be a Levite!" I strongly state.
I want no gold, no pearls, no crown of reward. I want no mansion, no property of land.
I want to be a Levite, where my only possession.........is The Lord!
