Hi Alan,I think you are exactly right, and that's how I marked my calendar! If Tishri 1 didn't begin until October 5th (sighting of new moon), then all the feast days have to be moved forward accordingly. I used a highlighter and marked the Feast of Tabernacles from the evening of Oct 19th thru the evening of the 26th. My sons who put up with all Mom's scripture lessons and rapture talk made the comment that the rapture would be great with them, all they wanted was for Jesus to wait so they would be able to finally be 18 years old! A childish request, I know, but guess what? Their 18th birthday is next Wednesday, October 26th! My upcoming birthday is a unique day too. It's November 10th, but at 10 am here in the central time zone, it's just turning to November 11th (11:11) in Jerusalem. I certainly have no need to be a year older; but hope to celebrate it with Jesus this year! The last line of your email certainly got my attention... "(the Servant Candle) (Jesus) will stand up " Dan 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.I had an awesome time at Succoth services today, chilled to the bone due to weather, but SO worth it. What a beautiful service. It was my first Succoth. The Christian churches are missing so much of the beauty of our Biblical heritage.Shabbat Shalom, Come Lord Jesus!Kay
Alan said:In counting the days of Succoth most of you are still looking at Succoth using the wrong calender.
Remember, the New Moon was not sighted until the 5th of October, meaning that Rosh Ha Shana arrived one day later than the calender date.
Most Jews are celebrating at least 24 hours off from the exact timing. Succoth did not begin until the evening of Oct. 19th.
Counting forward 7 days makes the evening of 26th the LAST DAY. Simchat Torah is the 27th. It is the 8th Day.
However the 4th Trumpet (the Servant Candle) will stand up and blast on Sunday night.
