One of the best indicators of a hurricane's intensity is its barometric pressure; very powerful hurricanes have very low readings. As of 11 a.m. Eastern time today Wilma's barometric pressure reading had dropped to 26.04 inches (66.14 centimeters) or 882 millibars, a record low.
Forecasters expect Wilma to lose some of its intensity before landfall, but the storm is still expected to come ashore as a major hurricane, with winds of at least 111 miles an hour (180 kilometers an hour).

He was given a 40 day reprieve of judgment, but I don't think Wilma plans to be so lenient. Which leads me to ask you all a question....Should we as Christians be idly standing by watching our country be slammed over and over, or should we be crying out for America to seek God and REPENT? The Bible tells us that faith without works is dead. Shouldn't we then be acting out our faith and making "faith and love" action words? I'm not saying God is not removing His hand of protection from our sinful nation, because I believe He is, but we are told that Satan is the Prince of the air. If we are in Christ, we are kings and priests of the Most High God, and I think Satan would like for us be busy dreaming about the rapture or other things and to forget our position and calling in Christ. We know that God is no respecter of persons, and innocent lives will be lost when this killer hurricane hits shore. Shouldn't we then be being Jonah's to our wicked Nineveh? We ARE told to occupy until He comes, so why not do it boldly, and proclaim that the land for peace our government is involved with is causing this judgment on America, call on Americans to take this last opportunity to REPENT and get right with God, then we pray like there's no tomorrow, and show them what our Great God can do!!! I saw Pat Robertson in the old days pray away a hurricane from Virginia Beach, and if God is willing to do that for him, then He'll do it for us! And when the biggest hurricane on record, what a marvelous testimony to our Great King! That just increases the challenge to me; the bigger the hurricane, the bigger the miracle, and more Glory to God!What do you all say? Shall we call or email a few of the major networks, and speak the truth, so they will get the word out that we Christian whackos plan to turn away this storm in Jesus name? And because the verse below is about Christians (lukewarm--wicked ways) why don't we make phone calls to many churches each and ask them to humble themselves on Sunday, then stand up and be counted and pray with us!2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. I feel the Lord is giving us a huge WAKE UP call, and it's high time we take a stand and get off our duffs, step out of our comfort zones and take AUTHORITY over this storm and rebuke it in Jesus name, shout His Name from the housetops, and get America to WAKE UP!
