RE:  "Tim McHyde's Posting - 10-4-05"

Over a year ago I participated in a discussion on a
Christian board as to whether or not a believer can
take the "Mark of the Beast " and still gain
"salvation."  Although it is my general opinion that
you should not take the "Mark," and that it is even
dangerous to consider the risk, the Lord brought to my
remembrance a few Scriptures that might indicate the
possibility of a "second chance" for someone realizing
their mistake.

Mat 5:29    And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it
out, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for
thee that one of thy members should perish, and not
[that] thy whole body should be cast into hell

Mat 5:30    And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it
off, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for
thee that one of thy members should perish, and not
[that] thy whole body should be cast into hell.

If you take a legalistic/lawyerly approach, you can
honestly argue that if you cut off the offending hand
that contains the "Mark," this might restore your
"salvation."  Likewise, if the mark is in/on your
forehead and you are decapitated for your faith, this
may also restore your "salvation."

Who amongst you what's to take the risk and pain for a
few hunger pangs?
