Part 1

So far no one who has reported in has seen the moon from Israel with
the naked eye on Tuesday October 4, 2005. The moon was sighted from
Eilat (Mt. Hizkiyahu) through binoculars by Magdi Shamuel and two
others; the moon was first sighted by Magdi at 18:46 and remained
visible through binoculars for 5 minutes. The moon was NOT sighted
with the naked eye. We are still awaiting further reports from Israel.

As explained to me by a Messianic Jewish friend, this means Rosh HaShanah actually starts Tuesday night Israel time and runs through Wednesday.
