Shalom Kathy and all other dear doves,
> "There can be no resurrection before the first
> resurrection."Perhaps it might have been clearer if stated as below
... as was meant to be understood:"There can be no FIRST resurrection before the FIRST
resurrection."The 'first resurrection' ...
Is this great protos/first event, FIRST BOTH in TIME
and HONOUR? (i.e. does 'protos', and also other
scriptures, imply both?)And ... is it compared and contrasted in scriptures
with that other awesome general and ONE-TIME-ONLY
endtime event which we are told doesn't happen until
after 1000 years from the protos/first event?
Daniel 12:
1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great
prince which standeth for the children of thy people:
and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never
was since there was a nation even to that same time:
and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every
one that shall be found written in the book.
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the
earth shall awake,(A) some to everlasting life,
(B) and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
NOTE THAT the scriptures supply simple stark contrast
to JUST TWO events separated by 1000 years:- some will be resurrected to everlasting life, ...
some to shame and everlasting contempt,- there will be a resurrection to life, ... and to
damnation,- there will be a resurrection of the just, ... and
the unjust,- there is a FIRST resurrection, ... but the rest of
the dead will NOT live until the end of 1000 years.(Daniel 12:2; John 5:29; Luke 14:14 and Acts 24:15;
Revelation 20:4-6)These scriptures DO seem to be describing and
contrasting JUST TWO GENERAL EVENTS ... the "FIRST"
being ...the BLESSED AND GLORIOUS [PROTOS] ONE:
"Blessed and holy is he
that has part in
the FIRST RESURRECTION."CLEARLY there can be NO (general) resurrection before
"THE FIRST" (general) resurrection, ... SINCE If there
COULD, "THE FIRST" (general resurrection), WOULD NOT
BE "THE FIRST" (general resurrection)! So then ...
WHEN DOES THIS GLORIOUS FIRST RESURRECTION OCCUR?
Here are some scriptures that GIVE CLUES as to when
this general and MOST GLORIOUS resurrection will take
place:- Daniel was told: "at the extreme end day". (Daniel
12:13)- Yeshua repeatedly informs us: "at the last day".
(John 6:39,40,44,54; 11:24)This GLORIOUS EVENT is thus pretty "tightly
delimited":- it's the "FIRST" resurrection,
- and it occurs on the "extreme end" or "last" day.
And even the "limits" of the duration of this
PRE-EMINENT EVENT are defined:- this FIRST RESURRECTION looks to ALL take place
within an "ATOM/MOMENT" of time,- within a "twinkling of an eye"!!! (1 Corinthians
15:52)51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all
sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the
last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead
shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be
changed.Revelation 20:4 INCLUDES THESE ALSO among the "just"
who WILL BE IN THIS PRE-EMINENT GLORIOUS "ATOM/MOMENT"
EVENT:" ... AND which had not worshipped the beast ... "
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and
judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of
them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and
for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the
beast, neither his image, neither had received his
mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they
lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
According to Matthew 24:29-31, the events leading up
to this MOST GLORIOUS EVENT COMMENCE ...(Matthew 24:29 may be readily translated:) "soon into
the process of the tribulation of those days",
(referring back to that period of great tribulation
that our Lord has just told us about in Matthew
24:15,21, that would COME FROM the "setting up of the
abomination (THAT LEADS TO) desolation" shown to
Daniel).***********************************************
N.B. !!! We seem to be implicitly, but clearly
enough, told that this protos event is ...'the blessed and HOLY event'. (see again verse 6)
***********************************************
And it is shown that this protos/first resurrection,
takes place at the START of the 1000 years:Revelation 20:
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and
judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of
them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and
for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the
beast, neither his image, neither had received his
mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they
lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
So ... what happens at the end of the 1000 years?
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the
thousand years were finished.(This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first
resurrection: on such the second death hath no power,
but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and
shall reign with him a thousand years.)7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan
shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are
in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to
gather them together to battle: the number of whom is
as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and
compassed the camp of the saints about, and the
beloved city: and fire came down from God out of
heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the
lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the
false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and
night for ever and ever.11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat
on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled
away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before
God; and the books were opened: and another book was
opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were
judged out of those things which were written in the
books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and
death and hell delivered up the dead which were in
them: and they were judged every man according to
their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of
fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of
life was cast into the lake of fire.1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the
first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and
there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming
down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride
adorned for her husband.
Yes ... there are several examples in scripture of
individuals being raised from the dead, and one of
several individuals during the time frame of the
resurrection of Jesus ... but it would seem that these
examples are not to detract from ... but rather to
prove the reality of ... the coming great endtime and
most-glorious and one-time-only-first-time-ever event.
Kathy had written:
"So then that would mean that no-one is resurrected
till the end of the Millinium (1000 years)? Because
we know that Christ was the first to be resurrected.
So then we are all either here or in the grave till
the end of the Millinium according to your way of
thinking. But that's not the case because Christ was
the first fruits of the first resurrection and then
there are those whose graves opened at his
ressurection and went into the city to appear to many.
Mat 27:53 So where did they go after that back to
their graves? (another part of the first
ressurection?) and then there will be all those who
are in Christ at his coming (another part to the first
resurrection?) Also there is a resurrection of the 2
Witnesses (another part of the first resurrection?).
So, you have here many categories to the first
resurrection, all in their proper order. 1Cr 15:23
But every man in his own order: Christ the
firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his
coming. The resurrection of the unjust (2nd
resurrection) is something neither of us wants to be
involved in....it will result in the 2nd death."
