"LIVING WATER,,,,,OR?"

LIVING WATER,,,,,OR?

This is just a tidbit, but I always thrill to the way in which our Lord saw in His surroundings, in the natural, and in nature, the trees, the animals, the fish, and in the ways of men as they acted out the ways of these things in nature---that all from the beginning in Genesis to the end of the scriptures, there are parables upon parablles to teach us His ways, and our own.   Anyway, I was reading about the actual city of Laodecia in the 1st century, and how they had suffered earthquakes and disasters, but, having refused help, and being rich, recovered quite nicely from each event. And so our Lord said,,,"you say that you are rich AND IN NEED OF NOTHING", because of this tendency in the city of independence from outside help (and He sees that they don't even need His help).........Now, further, the city was a manufacturer of a certain type of black wool, from a special kind of black sheep, and our Lord sees the nakedness of this church, and tells them to "buy of me" (not sell the black gowns), but buy of Him, a "white" robe so that their nakedness would be covered.   Finally, this city was dependent upon one thing,,,and that was water,,,,for it had to receive its water by way of six miles of aquaducts,,,,,,and guess what.....when this water finally reached the city it was "lukewarm".......and so it dispenses its lukewarm and trivialized, watered-down gospel of prosperity, and our Lord sees that after "six miles", or 6000 years, this particular church ends up as it does.........lukewarm.
