"Reply to Soraya"
The day after Christopher Reeve died I saw a
TV replay of an interview in which he said that after his accident he was
forced to come to terms with the fact that he had no faith in anything.
He then began reading and searching because he realized he needed some
kind of faith to carry him through. He discovered that Abraham Lincoln
said that when he did good things, he felt good, and when he did bad things,
he felt bad. Reeve said that just about summed it up for him,
and so that is what he adopted for his "faith." No reference was
made to the fact that Abraham Lincoln was a professing Christian.
Christopher Reeve in this interview made no mention of the fact that he
believed in God at all but rather in himself.
