"Haiku (17 syllables)"

Hi Doves,

Just wanted to share some coincidences with the number 17 I had yesterday.  For some reason my spouse and I were talking about Haiku*, the Japanese poetry that always has 17 syllables.  Later that morning, I had an appointment at the doctor where I was supposed to take a number and it was #17.  The appointment number was huge and laminated, designed for anyone to read from a distance across a room.    Driving home, a fire truck turned in front of me at an intersection, with the #17, painted in HUGE lettering on the front.  This morning I checked my phone message center and was told I had 17 saved messages, and one new one.

Joseph was 17** when he had a dream he would rule over his brothers, and then was sold into slavery by them. See Genesis Chapter 37 for the whole account.  His age when his life turned around dramatically was 17.  Just wanted to share about this number with you!

* an unrhymed poetic form, Japanese in origin, that contains seventeen syllables arranged in three lines of five, seven, and five syllables, respectively.

Genesis 37:2
This is the history of the descendants of Jacob and this is Jacob's line. Joseph, when he was seventeen years old, was shepherding the flock with his brothers; the lad was with the sons of Bilhah and Zilpah, his father's [secondary] wives; and Joseph brought to his father a bad report of them.
