Do people have short memories?  France and Germany wanted to lift sanctions on Iraq.  They were hoping we would NOT go into Iraq to stop their selling of arms to Saddam.
The UN sanctions were not being enforced and the members of the so called Security Counsel were the main culprits. UN inspectors were kicked out of Iraq. What is so revealing is that the news media is not reporting the outrageous duplicity of members of the Security Counsel....Russia, France, Germany ...
 
The focus of the media seems to be a rehash of the fact that Saddam did not yet have WMDS.  He had plenty of time to move them...perhaps to Syria.
