Russia is No Friend: Getting to the Bottom of WMDs
in part: Washington Times | 10-27-2004 | W.T. Stewart
It appears that we are finally getting to the bottom of several issues that have puzzled the minds of many political thinkers.
Where are the WMDs? Why was France and Russia against the US on the war in Iraq? And the new question, "where are these weapons that were in Al-Qaqaa?"
We already know that there was a major scandal going on with the UN's Iraq:Oil for Food Program. France was one of the biggest benefitors of the fraud going on in relation to that program. So, in the past weeks we have started to get a clue as to why they were against the war.
Now, the big news, the Washington Times is set to report in its papers tomorrow that Russia helped move weapons out of Iraq and into Syria in the weeks leading up to the War.
The Al-Qaqaa weapons are "almost certainly" included in this scenrio. But, this leads to a bigger possibility as well.
I would now say that it is likely that Russia helped move the Weapons of Mass Destruction as well. We know Saddam had the weapons because he had used them in the past--and I don't believe in things magically disapperaing into thin air.
The bottom line is this. We now are finding out why Russia and France did not want us to go to war in Iraq. The reason is because they were in bed with Saddam. These nations are NOT our allies or our friends, not in my mind.
It will be interesting to see where this story leads as the rest of the press picks up on it. I am going to get some sleep (I am so tired I can barely type) but I will write a full op-ed piece on this issue tomorrow afternoon that details what I believe this matter means, not only to the upcoming election, but to the future state of international affairs.
See you tomorrow.
