"Chris Mulder and the Election"
Great post, Chris. It is possible that the future
kingdom of the Beast might include the world of Islam, but let me suggest
another possibility--and this too hinges on the upcoming election, which,
by the way, I also believe to be of the utmost importance.
Revelation chapter 12, verse 1 reads: "And there appeared
a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under
her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars."
This verse is very reminiscient of Genesis 37:9-10, where
we discover that the sun symbolized Joseph's father, Jacob; the moon, his
mother; and the stars, the progenitors of the tribes of Israel. This verse
is in many ways the key to Rev. 12:1.
The woman of Revelation 12 is easily recognized by the
crown of twelve stars on her head. She is the nation of Israel, clothed
with the sun--the glory of God the Father-- in imagery expressing His favor.
But what is this moon underneath the feet of her?
I would submit that this moon symbolizes Islam. It has
been fairly well proven that the Allah of Islam is none other than the
moon god whom many of the arabs worshiped in pre-history. The crescent
moon is an ubiquitous feature in Islamic religion. It is seen on the flags
of arab nations and atop the minarets of mosques.
I go further and suggest that the moon under the feet
of the woman Israel is symbolic of an Islam that has been made subservient
to--and even possibly defeated by--the nation of Israel, or forces in league
with her.
I also suggest that since 9-11, a war against Islam has
been waged, and what we are undertaking now in Iraq is just the second
stage of what will be seen as the great war against radical Islam (some
have even called it World War Four--WW III being the Cold War). Under the
leadership of George W. Bush, radical Islam will be defeated, or at least
emasculated. With Israel's principal enemy neutralized, a temple can then
be built on Mount Moriah. Perhaps one of the final acts of this war will
be a peace bokered by the Anti-christ (coming from maybe the European Union?),
which surrenders the land once occupied by the Al Aqsa mosque and the Dome
of the Rock.
George W. Bush might indeed be that rider of the white
horse in Rev. 6, "overcoming, in order that he might overcome" (using the
Greek syntax). More than one person has recognized the historic circumstances
surrounding his election and actions after 9-11 which, if not an amazing
coincidence, point to this being the case. But let me declare right now
that I do not believe this rider is the Anti-christ, contrary to many recent
New Testament commentarians.
Satan probably recognizes this as well. That is why such
opposition is occuring amongst the abortion-friendly, and godless massess.
The kingdom of darkness is pulling out all the stops, and it appears (at
this point anyway) they are shovelling against the tide. Look for heads
being thrown back and howling on the morning of November 3rd. If you thought
the last election aftermath was nuts, wait for this one.
We seem to be on the cusp of a momentous era in human
history. It is good to be on the LORD's side.
Yours in Christ
