"A lamb for a house,
God's promise for household salvation"
I went to an excellent healing retreat. It is
just great when God enlightens a truth to us thru a gifted speaker who
helps us break thru ungodly beliefs that some time creep in.
In Exodus God makes a covenant on passover when they
place the lambs blood over the doorpost which protects the whole household
from the spirit of death. Just like for us Jesus has shed his blood and
as it says in Acts, believe on the Lord and you and your whole house shall
be saved. The glory of God is corporate, for the whole household.
I think the big problem is that we focus on the here
and now and then disbelief steps in when we do not see immediate results.
It is good to know that our relationship with God is based on his promise
and his does not waver even though we may by disbelief.
As far as those who are adrift in your family, remember
the situation with Abraham and Lot. Lot was not exactly right with God,
he was a little wayward, not wanting to leave sin city. Yet Abraham exerted
faith for Lot which brought Lot's deliverance.
Why can't we have that same sort of faith for our wayward
family members?
When we give up on family members we bring curses against
them which only causes more trouble. I think we need to be able to see
beyond the present and trust God that he shall keep his promise. Even Rahab
the harlot or prostitute could see this law of God as she covered her whole
family by choosing to turn to God.
We tend to forget that God is a covenant God, a God who
keeps his promises. So he is pleased when we trust him even when things
don't look so hot.
God bless
