"Re: Marie Komar - Constitution Party"

Dear John, Doves & Sister Marie:

An excellent and well thought out article regarding the Don Quixote Ticket
of Michael Peroutka and his 'Constitution Party'.

The fact is, IF Peroutka were somehow miraculously elected, without
a majority of Constitution Party Senators, Congressmen and Governors,
he would find himself extremely limited in what he could do. He might be
tempted to attempt ruling via Executive Order, however he would then find
himself dealing with countless challenges to such Orders in the Courts.

So what happens when 'President Peroutka' finds himself politically isolated
in the White House, and opposed by Republicans and Democrats alike?  If
he attempted to enact even a portion of the Constitution Party's platform by
executive fiat (which would be necessary without true support in the
Congress),
he would likely end up being impeached, and unlike Bill Clinton - convicted
and
removed from Office.  Ironically, Peroutka might end up doing away with all of
the divisiveness and partisanship in Washington, because everyone would be
working together to get rid of him. Would that be fair?  No. Would it be
reality?

YES.

My dear Grandmother was fond of a saying 'if wishes were horses, beggars
would ride', and that saying applies to Peroutka's pipe dreams of becoming
President of the United States. I submit that under a Peroutka Administration,
it wouldn't be long before the many tribes of American Indians would unite as
one to take back their land, in which case President Peroutka might as well
change his name to President George Armstrong Custer, as it appears to
even the most casual observer that he likes living in the past.

To sum up - a vote for Peroutka, is a vote for John Kerry.
