"PRAYER REQUEST FOR MY SON"
Dear John & Doves,
Would you please pray that the Lord will help my son
Darren find another job in the next two months that is less stressful and
that doesn't require him to work such long hours anywhere between 12 and
up to maybe 16 hrs. in some instances. Darren's present manager's job at
a frozen food company was originally a 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. job, and sometimes
he did have to work overtime up to 4 hrs., but certainly not every day.
What happened is when he took a vacation out to Colorado
some of the workers quit and they didn't rehire any men besides his boss's
company buying out another company. So the boss and his son expects
the men to work these long hours which is very stressful, and it is starting
to cause Darren to have headaches, and when he had headaches before they
led to him having a brain seizure. So please also pray that he doesn't
have another brain seizure.
Darren has put in an application to two different companies,
and has to be interviewed yet. I think Darren said he had one of
the interviews already set up, but he had to cancel it because his boss
or his son called him up and told him they needed him at work for the day
that Darren had arranged to take off to have the interview. Of course,
his boss doesn't know about the interview, and Darren is thinking of changing
his phone number so the boss can't call him to come into work on the day
that Darren has to go to his next interview. Both places where he
is applying for a job offer about the same wages as he is presently getting
besides having medical and dental coverage and a pension plan although
one of the jobs is a night job. Even though Darren doesn't like night hours
and prefers the job with day hours, he said he would take it just so that
he can quit the job he presently has. The company that Darren now
works for only has a medical plan and when he asked his boss about providing
a dental plan for his employees, Darren was handed a toothbrush, and to
put it in a nice way the employees aren't being treated too kindly on the
job since the boss's son was put in charge. They also have no pension
plan. Darren said the boss and his son attend church, but it sounds
like they need a change of heart so that they will treat their employees
better. If you can afford to buy out another company, you would think
that they would be able to afford to give their employees dental coverage
even if the employees had to pay part of the premium just like they do
with the medical coverage the employees have. Anyway I think you
get the picture of why Darren does not want to work in a place where there
is an unChristian attitude towards its employees.
Your prayers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
God bless you,
Donna
