The nisuah hamayim ritual finds its source in the Mishna. During Succot in the
time of the Temple, the priests would gather water from the holy Shiloah
Spring and would pour it onto the tabernacle in the Temple, accompanied by
songs and trumpets. The religious meaning behind the ritual, Weiss said, was
to draw strength and spiritual powers from the water, which would then
sustain the priests throughout the year.
----clip end----John 7:37-39:
On the last and greatest day of the Feast*, Yeshua stood and said in a
loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever
believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow
from within him."
By this He meant the Ruach HaKodesh, whom those who believed in Him were
later to recieve. Up to that time the Ruach HaKodesh had not been given,
since Yeshua had not yet been glorified.* Yesterday was the LAST day of the seven days of Feast of Tabernacles as YHVH
commanded they be kept. These next two days are what were added later, if my
understanding is correct, even after Yeshua lived on earth. So it would have
been yesterday, September 6, that Yeshua stood up, declaring Himself to
provide the Living Water.Today - September 7 - is the eight day, the day I believe Yeshua was brought
to the House of the LORD and circumsiced. Anna and Simeon where there to see
their SALVATION and they rejoiced!!!!Oh LORD, may it be at this time that we also SEE our Beloved Kinsman
Salvation!!Dianne
