Kadhafi also wants the establishment of a "committee of wise men" to settle
the world's conflicts and called on the United Nations to pass a resolution
in support of his idea, Shalghem said.

The committee would be comprised of three former presidents -- Clinton of the
United States, Mikhail Gorbachev of the now-defunct Soviet Union and Nelson
Mandela from South Africa.
