"The Party"

Have you ever been to a party and felt underdressed... maybe a little embarassed.  Well someday we are going to meet some truly wealthy people.  People richer than Midas.  People whose riches are greater than all the combined kings who have ever lived.  Even dressed in our finest clothes we might feel a little shabby in their company.

The people I'm speaking of aren't in the same league as Carnegie, Rockefeller, or Bill Gates.  Chump change!  I'm speaking of Gladys Aylward, Robert Morrison, Adoniram Judson, Corrie Ten Boom, and Eric Liddell to name but a few.  These are some examples of the people we will meet at the party in heaven.  We will doubtlessly meet others at the party whose names we don't know yet.

To see these great men and women of God celebrating at the party... Oh, what a sight that must be!  Their robes are beautiful, their crowns are magnificent and their countenance is shining.  I know my inclination will be to run and hide in shame.  How could I possibly have been invited to the same party as these illustrious guests?!

But, I have been invited to the same celebration.  Awkwardly, but happily I'll join in.  After waiting in line, maybe I'll pluck up the courage to ask someone to dance.  But then before I can ask... the music stops.  For a moment everyone will hold their breath.  The King of Kings enters!

At last I realize why it would have killed me to have looked upon the face of God!  The beauty, glory, radiance of Jesus Christ!  The very sun is dim compared to the brilliance I see!

Matthew 6: 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
