To the Five Doves,
"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and
shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."
Have you ever noticed that there is something strange about
Genesis 2:24? On the sixth day of Creation there were no
fathers or mothers in the entire world. There was only one
childless couple; Adam who was not yet a father, and Eve who was
not yet a mother. So why does Genesis 2:24 speak of a
father and a mother?
It turns out that Genesis 2:24 is a very important
prophecy. It features two Bible passages that share a
common theme with Genesis 2:24, and both of them contain similar
hidden allegories. Jacob met Rachel at a well and sought
to marry her; likewise Christ met His Church
(allegorically, the Samaritan woman) at Jacob's well and sought
to marry her. These two Bible passages apply both to God's
loving relationship with the nation of Israel and to His loving
relationship with His Church.
