I thought he might be seeing a lunar eclipse, but now I believe he is seeing a solar eclipse.  We need to watch these solar eclipses!

OK so there is a partial eclipse on 11/25/2011 and 5/20/2012.  And there is a total eclipse in the scales of Judgement on 11/13/2012.
