Hello Steve
God bless you brother and your work.
My name is Katie Long, I live in Florida and I catch your radio
programs on the internet.
While listening to the above subject named show, you asked this
question.
Why ? When we have been given so much, are we the most half
hearted wimps in the universe ?
I thought a lot about that question. Presently I am doing a
study of the book of JUDE.
Brother may I say that it is by no means chance that God has
placed the books of the Bible as He has.
Jude is written to the Beloved, The called, and The Kept. We
believers.
In as much as ACTS is the beginning of the church, Jude is the
end of the Church era.
Jude under great devine compulsion from the Holy Spirit
wrote that which he had not first intended. He was going to
write us concerning The gospel of Christ. Which is common to us,
the believer.
This Epistle will have little meaning to one unless he be Born
Again, and Abide in Jesus Christ. Otherwise it would seem
strange to the reader.
I Cor 2:14 A natural man receives not the things of the Spirit
of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know
them, because they are Spiritually discerned.
Jude is an Epistle of Apostasy
TODAY we dear brother live in this ocean of apostasy. This last
generation to whom Jude is writing.
He brings to our memory things he takes for granted that we
should already have knowledge of.
Your question relates to the children of Israel in the Exodus.
They saw all the Works of God. Yet they perished for lack of
faith.
We would ask : How could they have seen all this , and still not
be faithful that God could deliver them from the giants ?
God gave them over to their very murmuring words they spoke in
His ear. And none of that generation saw the promised land save
for 2.
We might ask: Were the Israelites saved ? I say YES......that is
what the blood on the door post was all about.
Many professed christians are ignorant of the truths, and
knowledge of the Word of God. Nor do they have a relationship
with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
They are christian in name only, and are satisfied with the mush
they receive from the teaching they might get on Sunday.
These teachings in this Day of Apostasy is week, as I am being
kind to say the least.
Faith involves duty to others. “ if any man provide not for his
own especially those of his own household, he has denied the
Faith and is worse than an enfadel.
Faith is something that is going to depart from the earth in the
Last Days. This is why the Epistle of Jude is a Last Days issue.
Apostasy is going to be something that happens not only in the
Last Days, but it is going to characterize the Last Days.
Faith is a combatant thing. Eph 6. Put on the whole armor of
God.
Why did Jude have to write this book ? There are tares among the
wheat.
Verse 4 : There are certain men crept in unawares who were
before of Old, ordained of this condemnation. Ungodly men,
turning the Grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying
the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is because of verse 4 the letter HAD to be written.
Apostasy; is the rejection of the Truth of God. People who
receive light but not LIFE. People who have the written word but
not the LIVING word in them.
James deals with Works; evidence In Faith
Jude speaks of Works which evidence Lack of Faith or Apostasy.
Those that are fallen away.
We ; everyone of us are called to Contend For The Faith.
Sheep are Not herded, they Follow the voice of their master.
They know his voice.
And Jesus promised us that No one can pluck us out of His hand,
and the Father is greater and has given us to Him, and no one
can pluck us out of the Fathers hand.
There are TWO hands holding us. Father and the Son. Praise God !
My answer for your question is:
We are still Flesh, and until we are LIKE Him will be no longer
be bound by it.
Praise the Lord for His unending Mercy and Love and Grace.
Which is the essence of Jude’s Epistle to us the Beloved, the
Called, and the Kept.
May God lead you in your every step, and action , and word and
deed.
Be Blessed in our Lord and Savior
Katie
